ROBLOX EXPERIENCE: Jungle Tours Boat Ride by Angel Girl Brianna – Roblox (Single Theme Park ride) – Angel Girl Brianna
I don’t know if this is the right sub-forum or not or if the moderators can move it to the correct one. This needs to be said on the Roblox dev forum as there is a new issue which can affect many Roblox experiences right now. It is involving a sound effect on the Roblox platform. I beg the moderators to allow this post since this issue is affecting many Roblox experiences and any Roblox experiences using a single sound effect of water dripping uploaded by a Roblox user which can include Roblox game design since audio is used in the game design of Roblox Studio users.
I have a Roblox Experience which had used a water dripping sound effect sounding like it is inside of a cave. Millions of people can record water dripping sound effects and upload it to Roblox or YouTube or anywhere. People record their Roblox experiences and post them on YouTube because usually the sounds in Roblox experiences are YouTube friendly, royalty free, or their own works.
I pay monthly for Zapsplat to use royalty free nature sounds or any good sound effects which doesn’t require royalty to be paid to the copyright owners but anytime I upload any of the Zapsplat audios I pay premium for, I get blocked by the Roblox Content ID system saying copyright even though I have the right under the premium license to use those royalty free sound effects on videos, games and that would include Roblox. Maybe Roblox can make a deal with Zapsplat to allow their royalty free songs to be used in Roblox experiences in the future. Here is why I had to bring up Zapsplat.
Because Zapsplat sound effects are being blocked from being uploaded to Roblox over “copyright” I looked in the Roblox creator store in the audio section to use cave water dripping sound effects to use in my Roblox experience. I found one and will post a link to the very sound effect which is causing an issue here.
This sound effect is causing issues with the Sony record company, I will explain as to why.
I used this very sound effect in my Roxlox experience.
Jungle Tours Boat Ride by Angel Girl Brianna – Roblox
I have to bring my experience up as it pertains to the issue. I will continue. When you go in my Roblox experience to investigate the issue, I originally created this Roblox Experience to be my own unique version of like boat rides you see at major theme parks. It was a boat ride where Angel Girl Brianna gives those who ride the boat ride, a tour of a jungle, then the bad guys show up and Angel Girl drives the boat to safety and in the end the police capture the bad guys and everyone is safe and then the boat ride arrives back at the boat dock for new people to enjoy the ride.
Part of the ride has a sea cave with a pirate boat. Inside of the cave, that is the sound effect used. Cave Drips – Creator Store
It is 12-13 seconds water dripping sound effect which sounds like it was recorded inside of a wet cave.
The one who uploaded this sound effect on Roblox and freely allows that to be used in other Roblox Experiences is Spectral Party – Roblox. It’s clearly a fairly mid size Roblox group.

This sound has been out for a lot of years.
After using this sound effect in my Roblox Experience, I am worried about getting false reported and losing all my Roblox Experiences, and at this time there is no competitor to Roblox which will allow me to backup my Experiences to those platforms with it all intact and working. So instead I had decided to record my Roblox Experience in case I ever lose it due to a false report or enforcement ban over using a public Wifi.
I recorded my tour boat ride experience and uploaded it to YouTube.

When you watch the YouTube video you wonder which area of the video received a major copyright block or issue on YouTube and how it involves the sound effect of Roblox Group Spectral Party – Roblox.
Here is the copyright issue I received.

Sony is laying claim to my uploaded video of my Roblox experience Jungle Tours Boat Ride by Angel Girl Brianna. They claim I am using their song “Game, Tama Na!” by Eraserheads. Because of that they are blocking certain countries from viewing my video and I fear I can be shadow banned and further punished over usage of a song I never used.
Eraserheads (sometimes stylized as ƎRASERHEADS or ƎRASƎRHƎADS ) are a Filipino rock band formed in Quezon City in 1989. The band consists of lead singer and primary songwriter Ely Buendia, guitarist Marcus Adoro, bassist Buddy Zabala, and drummer Raimund Marasigan. Hailed as “the Beatles of the Philippines”, they are regarded as one of the most influential and successful bands in the country.
Eraserheads – Wikipedia – Came From Wikipedia (I have to put this so they know I did research on Eraserheads after the copyright claim. Since I am doing an affidavit I don’t want them to make erroneous assumption claims against me.)
I will be working on an affidavit and emailing it to both Sony’s legal team and YouTube’s legal team over the very issue which will affect Roblox experiences using this sound effect and YouTubers recording Roblox Experiences using this sound effect.
When you watch my YouTube video of my Roblox experience, the copyright claim was around 00:08:31 in video to 00:08:41 in the video. Approximately 10 seconds of the video was flagged as using copyrighted materials from Sony Entertainment.
It said I used their SONG, not sound effect but a SONG called “Game, Tama, Na!” by Eraserheads.
Roblox is allowing a water dripping sound effect and yet somehow anybody recording riding my jungle boat ride inside of my cave will receive copyright warnings or strikes over a sound effect which is a generalized sound effect.,
You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:
- What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
I want to warn other Roblox devs and users about using this sound effect at this time until pressure is put on SONY ENTERTAINMENT to stop flagging normal sound effects as violating copyrights of music artists such as Eraserheads.
I hope the moderators allow this post since it is entirely relevant to the situation of Game Design and development, the issue of using regular sound effects can now be flagged as copyright issues by the Content ID systems of video streaming platforms and video sharing platforms like YouTube and others.
I want to warn other Roblox devs about the potential issues of using this water dripping sound effect.
- What is the issue? Include enough details if possible!
The issue is this sound effect: Cave Drips – Creator Store, is causing copyright claims from SONY ENTERTAINMENT stating that using this sound effect is using a clip from the band Eraserheads and the song Game, Tama, Na!.
This is a false positive because water dripping is a standard easy to record sound effect. Millions of people can have water dripping faucets or purposefully have water dripping to record such a sound effect.
The copyright claim is that ten seconds of their music were used. The YouTube video I recorded of my Roblox Experience the area with the copyright issue only had water dripping sound effect from Cave Drips – Creator Store. I listened to that song from Eraserheads on their YouTube channel and noticed halfway into the song they used a water dripping sound effect.
The issues this brings is that anybody who records water dripping, especially an echoing water dripping sound effect can now face false copyright claims from SONY ENTERTAINMENT including Roblox users for simply using a water dripping sound effect because the sound effect is similar to the same type sound effect from the song Game, Tama, Na!.
I do believe this copyright claim by Content ID automated system is meritless and here is why.
If this Roblox user or group Spectral Party – Roblox managed to not find any royalty free sound at all over water dripping which is doubtful since this is a common sound effect, let’s say for argument they could have cut out of the SONY copyrighted track to use part of it as a water dripping sound effect??? Then why did the copyright claim only identify 10 seconds of water dripping as a copyright issue with SONY and yet the Roblox user’s upload in the Creator Store is 12-13 seconds long. The sound looped in my cave over and over again, so about a minute or more you heard this sound effect. So why didn’t YouTube claim the entire minute was using a clip from “Game, Tama, Na!”???
Water dripping is a common sound effect. Anybody can easily produce and record such a sound, millions of people have and use cell phones with recording devices in them. Millions of people worldwide use computers, and any of them are capable of recording water dripping sound effects.
Now us Roblox devs now have to worry about sound effects being flagged as potential copyright violations even if we record the sound effects ourselves if somehow the recorded sounds are similar to that used in a copyrighted song in the Content ID database.
The U.S. Supreme Court had ruled that general sounds and nature sounds cannot be copyrighted because of the issue that water drips and nature sounds are widely used and known, and wasn’t created by a single artist. Water drips were not invented by man. Eraserheads is not a water god, who decided they own the copyrights to water dripping itself. Sony is not a water god, Sony is not a god who invented water drips. Sony has no right to demand people take down or block YouTube videos over water dripping sounds while claiming the reason is is over they believe I used part of a clip of the copyrighted song Game, Tama, Na!.
- What solutions have you thought of so far?
I will be submitting an affidavit to SONY ENTERTAINMENT and an affidavit to YouTube Legal Team to try to fight this copyright claim as this is a Roblox sound effect used.
The best solution right now is that the original uploader needs to be notified by message or email or something. They need to go to this forum and read this post. They need to know what is going on right now. This sound effect copyright claim will negatively effect every Roblox experiences that use sound effects such as water dripping.
I am poor and cannot afford a copyright attorney but I do not believe I violated any copyright over usage of a water dripping sound effect since it is a common sound effect and this Roblox user uploaded it in 2021. For years this sound has no issue with Roblox. If anything, somebody needs to ask Spectral Party about this claim by SONY ENTERTAINMENT, their record company.
I will be pushing back with a dispute claim and submit an affidavit to them so that they will drop the Content ID claim and I will respectfully demand that they drop the sound effect from the Content ID system, and only have the song and not the mere sound effect.
I am in the right as Content ID normally does not allow sound effects to be used in automated copyright enforcement due to the potential problems for both royalty free sound effects and those who make their own sound effects can get caught up in the Content ID filters.
Sadly, some people submit references that aren’t legit. This can happen either by oversight or by intention.
Such ineligible references include:
- Public domain recordings and compositions.
- Creative commons music.
- Any music that is built with royalty free loops or melodies.
- Sound effects (that is, sounds that are not music).
Learn more about what reference content is not eligible for Content ID system.
Sound effects normally are not used in the auto copyright enforcement because then it can block people’s own produced recordings which they would hold the right to use since they recorded water dripping themselves.
Right now this forum post is a major issue which needs to be discussed right now or people may start quitting Roblox Studio and all other 3d game creators out of fear using any sound effect can get in legal trouble with SONY ENTERTAINMENT.
I had to post about this on my brand connected to posting about my Roblox experiences but I fear it’s not enough to warn other Roblox devs. YouTube wrongly flags our Jungle Boat Tours Roblox experience video as a copyright issue over a sound effect – Angel Girl Brianna
So I am posting this here because Roblox devs need to be WARNED about the new issue where sound effects can face copyright takedowns or automated blocks. Even if there is the chance it was either recorded originally or was royalty free license.
SONY legally does not own water dripping. SONY is not a god and has no inherit copyright authority to copyright all standard sound effects if any sound effects are used in their music and movies. Anybody can record water dripping, millions of people who use computers can record water dripping and upload it to Roblox.
I hope this forum post will cause this issue to come to an end and be resolved.
It needs to be resolved or other Roblox users could face copyright issues over any sound effects.
Thank you!!!
If anybody from Roblox can contact this user or group, we need a serious discussion about the copyright issues popping up over using sound effects when it could have been originally recorded by that Roblox uploader or even using a royalty free or public domain sound.
